As noted below the planned training and event at Lords Lot on Saturday 4th October have been cancelled. This was because of extensive felling rendering the map out of date, plus the area is a lot more "rugged" than befits a White and Yellow course. However the training part of the day will still go ahead, but at Salt Ayre in Lancaster. See the Fixtures page for details.

Details of the first of this season's night street events (Clitheroe on 15th October) are now on the Fixtures page. Email Mike Ormerod by 12 October if you would like to order the pie and peas. Note the higher fee for this event and don't forget your towel to take advantage of the showers. If you would like to learn more about this highly successful series read this overview.

The Lords Lot O-zone event scheduled for Saturday 4th October is cancelled, due to felling. Further details will follow shortly.
Votes will be counted at the end of September, so don't delay if you haven't yet visited the Message Board to cast yours. We always welcome pictures of orienteering related subjects to add to the Gallery, and the montage on the right was made up of some of the best from the last couple of months. The winning photographer will be awarded a memory card to suit their camera, in the hope of encouraging further photographic inspiration. To vote follow this link, and while you are there why not post on another topic!
Organiser Dave Hargreaves offers this photo of some of the magnificent open fell terrian which is Torver High Common as a taster of for our next big event. More details of the event are available here. We will be hosting the North West round of the Yvette Baker Trophy, so expect a good turnout. Dave would still like to hear from any club members who can help on the day. Please email him if you can spare some time on the day.

The first session attracted 35 people who enjoyed a choice of physical training or orienteering games. These sessions will take place each week on the same day at the same time. Don't worry if you can't make every session, just come when you can. The sessions are intended to cater for all abilities of fitness and provide a good opportunity to socialise. As you can see from the photos, there's a lot of space for more so come along and give it a go. See the fixtures entry for further details and a map.
