SROC runners score well at Interland
England has once again won Interland, the annual international match, this year held in Belgium. Annie Ockenden placed 2nd in D14 and Quentin Harding was 3rd in H Masters. Results may be viewed here.

Harding girls en route to Junior World Champs!
Zoe and Katrin Harding have both been selected to represent Great Britain in the Junior World Orienteering Championships to be held in Slovakia, 7th-14th July. Many congratulations to them. More on the British Orienteering website.
Club night returns!
Club night goes outdoors now it's light, a mixture of fun physical exercises and finishing up with a game of frisbee! Meet at the Lancaster University visitor car park close to the sports fields, accessed from Green Lane (free after 18.00) for 18.30 start. See fixture list for map link. Everyone welcome!

Final Spring Series event
The third and final SROC Spring Series event is on this Saturday at Astley Park, Chorley with a 60 minute score course suitable for both beginners and the experienced. This is a great area, used for the 2011 British Sprint Championships. Full details are on the Fixtures List. Parking is at GR SD574184 (the main car park for Astley Hall). Starts 12:30-2.00. Fees £4/£2, just turn up on the day!

JK Relay triumph!
The Veteran Men (M165+) team of Andy Quickfall, Julian Lailey and Quentin Harding won their class by almost a minute in the JK relays today. Many congratulations to them. There were creditable performances by the other relay teams too. All results are on the JK 2012 website.

SROC JK medals
Several SROC members enjoying the traditional Easter orienteering festival in Scotland over the last three days have visited the podium at least once. In the day 1 sprint Quentin Harding was 1st in M50, repeating his victory in the British a couple of weeks earlier. Katrin Harding was 3rd in W20E. Other sprint top ten places went to: Karen Nash 4th (W50), Zoe Harding 4th (W18E), Sue Harding 5th (W50), Jane Anthony 10th (W55) and Andy Quickfall 1oth (M55). The main competition was held over days 2 and 3. Top three results went to: Dick Collins 1st (M65S, 2nd day 2, 1st day 3), Quentin Harding 2nd (M50L, 2nd day 2, 3rd day 3), Sue Roome 2nd (W60S, 2nd day 2, 5th day 3), Katrin Harding 2nd (W20E, 4th day 2, 2nd day 3) and Zoe Harding 3rd (W18E, 2nd day 2, 3rd day 3). Other overall top ten places went to: Chris Nash 5th (M18L), Sue Harding 6th (W50L), Sarah Watkins 6th (W35S), Karen Nash 10th (W50L), Laurence Johnson 10th (M14A), Philip Gager 1oth (M65S), Karen Quickfall 10th (W45S) and Jane Anthony 10th (W55L). NWOL 2011 junior winners
Congratulations to Zoe Harding (W18) and Chris Nash (M16) who both finished top of their respective class in the 2011 North West Orienteering League, sponsored by CompassPoint. The rules have changed a little for 2012 and the league may be followed on the NWOA website.

Club stalwart to carry the Olympic Flame
SROC member Maurice Collett will carry the Olympic Flame in Aysgarth, Kendal, early on the morning of Friday 22nd June, as it makes its way South also passing through Carnforth, Lancaster and Blackpool on that day. It would be good to have some support for Maurice from club members. More details of the torch route here.
