SROCkite.gif (2521 bytes) Northern Champions!

Finlay Johnson (M12), Lawrence Johnson (M16) and Quentin Harding (M50) were all crowned as Northern Champions at Castle Carr on Sunday. There were several other commendable results on the championship courses; Mike Johnson, Julian Lailey, Peter Knott, Helen Ockenden, Deb Murrell and Jane Anthony were all on the podium. In the Short classes Roy McGregor, Jon Carberry, Martyn Roome, Philip Gager and Sarah Watkins were also in the top three places. Congratulations to them all.

SROCkite.gif (2521 bytes) SROC cycle ride

Wonderful weather greeted the 13 members of SROC who met at Kirkham on Sunday 9th June. Peter Knott had organised not only the weather but also a great ride, taking in the lanes in the mid Fylde, with coffee at Great Eccleston and lunch at St Michaels. Peter crowned it all off with tea and cakes at his house!

A perfect summer's evening welcomed sprinters to Worden Park in Leyland yesterday, where they were faced with a different challenge to the earlier urban style sprint events. Results have been added to the SSS page.

With 60 minute and 90 minute runs available and using enlarged OS maps to navigate on public rights of way, these events offer an alternative form of informal low-cost orienteering suitable for newcomers and experienced navigators alike.  Please bring your friends!
