Summer Sprint Series scores

The third Summer Sprint event was keenly contested on a warm summer evening in Worden Park. The pressure of sprint orienteering got the better of several experienced orienteers and a modest turn-out meant that high league points were gained by the successful finishers. With 2 events remaining league winning positions (JM 14-, JW 14-, M, W, SM55+ and SW 55+) are still all up for grabs (best 3 out of 5 to count). Latest league table.  Next event : Lancaster University 5th July.

Details for the next Summer Sprint event on 21st June have been added to the fixture list.

Success at the British Sprint & Middle Distance Championships

The Sprint Champs were held in the Olympic Park on Saturday, followed by the Middle Champs at Leith Hill on Sunday. Jane Anthony(W60) and Quentin Harding (M50) are British Sprint Champions! Quentin was second (M50) in the Middles, and Mike Johnson (M55) came third. Congratulations to all. Full results for the weekend are here.

Summer Sprints Series latest league table

The league table for this year's summer series has been updated with scores from Williamson Park. Best three events out of five to count, next event on 21st June in Worden Park.

Williamson Park sprint event

Today saw the second in the series of Summer Sprint events. Williamson Park remains a popular venue and we had a terrific turnout and only just enough maps! Results are available from the series web page, and RouteGadget is ready for your routes.

Scout and Guide Champs 14th June

Details for this event, which is open to all whether they are part of the Scouts & guides or not, are on the Fixtures page. We still need some more helpers to make the event run smoothly. Any volunteers would be able to run as well. Please contact Bob Nash.

Club Win at Timble

Thirty-three club members made the trip to the 'dark side' of Yorkshire to take part in this postponed round of the CompassSport Trophy. Timble wood provided a good test and many emerged with tales to tell, such is the joy of orienteering. Fortunately, we emerged convincing winners of our heat and can now prepare for the final. It was great to see so many club members at the event, there was a good level of camaraderie and many were sporting their new club tops, it all lent to a real club spirit.
