There was a fabulous turnout and equally fabulous weather was enjoyed at the event in Grisedale Wood, part of the Leighton Hall estate, today. The intricate detail in the wood cost time for anyone less than 100% confident in their position, but the challenge appeared to be all part of the fun. Results are on-line here, and RouteGadget here. On now to the Summer Sprint (short course) Series, starting in Astley Park on Tuesday 9th May.

Roomes double Silver medals at 2023 JK
There were many notable performances at this year's JK Festival of Orienteering, held in our local area. Standout result at the Sprint on Friday was John Embrey's first place in M65. The JK overall placings depended on the total times for days 2 and 3, Middle Distance in High Dam and Long Distance in Bigland. Heather and David Roome each went home with Silver medals, for W40L and M40L. We congratulate them, and wish the relay teams success for tomorrow! For full results visit the JK results page.

SROC Atheletes Selected for England!
The Interland Cup is England’s only international competition outside the British Isles. England competes annually in this five-cornered match against two Belgian teams (Flemish and French speaking), the Netherlands, and the French Ligue des Hauts de France de Course d’Orientation (LHFCO) . The competition is truly a team effort spanning age groups from W and M14 to W and M60+
Belgium host the 2023 Interland Cup which will take place at Lommel ‘Kattenbos’in north east Belgium on 5 March.
This venue is typical mixed open and wooded on sandy soil with fine contour (2.5m vi) detail: one of the best in this part of Belgium.
We wish them the very best for the competition!
