SROC at Croeso 2024, the Welsh 6 Days

 Over 30 SROC members attended the Welsh 6 Days in the Brecon Beacons last week - and what a fantastic week it was!

The final results are based on best 4 results.

Second places for David Roome M40L, Juliet Bentley W55S

Summer Series completed

Event five of the SROC Summer Series was held in sunshine in Carnforth today. The area was new to orienteering and Graham Capper not only drew the map but planned the courses too. All in all a great finish to the series! Results are here, and check out the final series scores here. Congatulations to Fraser Dixon, overall winner, and Cate Matthew first female. Also to all the other class winners, of whom John Embrey was not only Ultravet Men winner but also 2nd overall!

Event five in the SROC Summer Series

There is still time to get your entry in for the final event in the current series. This will be at Carnforth High School, and surrounding urban area, this Thursday 4th July. Prologue starts from 6.30. Entries open until 9 on Wednesday evening, at SiEntries. Don't miss this chance to run on a brand new map!

Happy Mount Park

The sun shone and the newcomers came to enjoy some real orienteering in the lovely Happy Mount Park in Morecambe today. The encampment of Normas had little effect on proceedings, but the one control site which clashed with an archery range did come a cropper as a result. Results are on-line here. The Score course (find as many controls as you can) is ideal for the less experienced. Map and electronic timing chip provided - all for just £6 per entry. An entry can be one person or a small group.

Stanley Park results

Evening sunshine after a showery day was most welcome for the select few who ventured to Blackpool today for the third in the current Summer Series of sprint events. The results, including series scores to date, have been published. Anyone who missed this event missed two great courses.
