Unfortunately the weather forecast for this event was exactly right, and the rain started as we started to set things up, peaked at the time were meant to be starting, and had gone by the time we were clearing up. It didn't seem to dampen people's enthusiasm too much. Congratulations to all prize winners, and apologies to the Binlay Babes who didn't receive their prize due to a mix up with their team name. They and the Horney Devils were far and away the best costumes. I would love to know how the Horney Devils also managed to accrue so many points, to also be joint second in the main competition I suspect some skilllfull vamping may have been involved.
The many twists to the rules pretty much eliminate any correlation between points scored and Orienteering skill. As I haven't organised a lot of events I was grateful to have the support of several experienced club members. Particularly the Harding family, also Mark (Count Dracula) Edwards, Julian (The Finger) Lailey and the Roomes. Last but not least my big sister Ali and son Michael for putting out the road signs.

I look forward to seeing you all next year, but if you can't wait that long, why not some more conventional Orienteering, in the day time without costumes.
