North West Night League event, Sizergh

Believe it or not last time I planned a night event the conditions were even worse! I just want to apologise for misplacing control 112. I hope it didn't detract too much from your run. The results have been adjusted to remove the effects of this control. I'd also like to thank Mike for organising very efficiently, and to Quentin, Julian and Tom for help on the night."

Autumn Series League Scores

After the wet but well attended Lancaster University event on Saturday 14th November the final standings in the League have been calculated. It was great to see so many new to the sport taking part and we look forward to you becoming regulars.

Street League 3, Longton

An excellent new map and the novelty of starting from an Italian restaurant made the trip to Longton this evening worthwhile despite the horrendous weather forecast. In the end most got round dry and the winds were not as strong as feared so the decision to go ahead with the event was fully justified. RouteGadget is ready for your routes.

Results for today's final event in the current series are on-line here. After a well attended training session and innovative micro-O course it was good to stretch our legs around the parkland and woodland areas of the campus. The tricky free order section on the Technical course caught out a couple of experienced runners.

Autumn Series finale at Lancaster University, Saturday 14th November

The final event of the series is on Saturday 14th November at Lancaster University with parking in the large Alexandra Park car park at the South end of the campus, accessible from the traffic lights on A6, signed "Alexandra Park". Starts 12.30-1.30.  This time we are using the parkland (which has not been used for many years) rather than the built up campus. The prizegiving for the series will take place at the end of the event.
There will be free coaching before the event from 11.15 to 12.15 lead by Iain Embrey, a very experienced and innovative coach. This session will focus on map orientation using a micro map and will be relevant for experienced orienteers as well as beginners. He is also running a micro O competition which you can do before the main event from 12.15 to 1.00pm

sponsoring the series.

Wednesday saw the second event in the 2015-2016 night street league, with a return to an old venue on the Morecambe map. Warm and dry conditions favoured the event and the pie and peas went down well afterwards. With apologies for the delay RouteGadget is now ready for your routes to be added.
