SROCkite.gif (2521 bytes) Astley Park Autumn League courses launched!

The Astley Park Maprun, the 2nd event in the SROC Autumn series, is now live! We have some AMAZING courses created by top orienteer Andy Quickfall!

You can run any course you wish – and it's all free – but for the purposes of the informal Autumn League the following applies;

M/W14s and below and M/W60s and above to run the Astley Middle course (3.4km, 20 Controls). All this course is within Astley Park and does not cross even quiet residential roads.

M/W16s to M/W55s to run the Long Hard (5.0Km, 26 Controls). Except that if you are UNDER 16 on the day of your run you need to run the Middle course, as this course crosses quiet residential roads. This course has 2 A4 parts to be printed.

There are yet more courses too!

Easy (2.8Km, 17 Controls). All within the Park

Hard (3.5KM, 19 Controls). Goes on to quiet residential roads. This course has 2 A4 parts to be printed.

You can run a longer course than your age group if you wish and still score points.

The Astley Park courses, to be downloaded on to your phone or Garmin, will be found in the MaprunF app, go to select events - UK/Lancashire/South Ribble, Chorley, Preston. Make sure you download the correct course

The course map will be downloaded from the BOF site, Go Orienteering/ Permanent Courses/ then filter on NWOA and GPS course. Make sure you download the correct map and note that you need 2 A4 parts for the Long Hard and Hard. They will be there from Monday onwards. But you can also get them from me, just email me on Development@sroc.org.
