SROCkite.gif (2521 bytes) Astley Park autumn mid week series event

Results for the fourth and final event in the Chorley series are published here, also RouteGadget.
Yet again we had a dry evening for the event which given the weather we have had throughout September was quite amazing - pleasingly it wasn't too bad underfoot, certainly a lot better than Duxbury (I still shudder at the thought of that even though it was dry for the event). Can I once again thank my cohort of helpers Karen Q, Karen N, Jane, John & Tony - particularly for collecting the controls in for me (also thanks to Martin for helping with this). The final event of the Autumn Series certainly threw up some challenges. A Norwegian event was a new experience for a number of participants and although I tried to distinguish between the two Norwegian courses there was still a degree of confusion. Overall the event was well received even by those who started late and had to retire when it got too dark. It was felt that the Norwegian event made it a challenge in an area that has been used quite a lot before, however this is too late in the year for an evening event unless you see it as training for the Night Series. Finally a big thank you to all the regulars who came to the events and seemed pleased with the variety of activities Darren, Tony and myself put on. Bob Nash.
