The Axeman cometh!
South Ribble M21 Mark Saunders carried off the Battleaxe Trophy at a prize-giving ceremony this evening, held after the final event in Warrior OC's ever popular score orienteering series. Several other SROC members were in close contention for one or other of the prizes. Mark said "this is my proudest moment. I'm sick of coming second! I wouldn't be orienteering today if South Ribble hadn't made me so welcome." Results are available from the Warrior website.
Summer Series gets off to a successful start
Everyone enjoyed the score event put on by Julian Lailey at Wellington Wood. Unlike conventional score events all points scored from odd numbered controls had to be done before accumulating from even numbered controls, the even numbered controls being worth more points. Results can be found here.
