Carnforth Family Orienteering
Over 180 children took part in the Y3/4 Carnforth Family Orienteering Festival in Williamson Park on Monday 17th May. Results are here. The eight schools that entered are part of the Heysham Schools Sports partnership. The challenge was to find up to 20 control points positioned throughout the park using a detailed map with the children free to choose their own routes between controls. Overall winners were Ellis and Patrick from Silverdale School. The best 3 pairs from each school scored for the team event with the lowest total winning. Once again this was very close affair with Silverdale just edging out Arkholme. The event was organised by Mark Edwards, the School Sports Coordinator (SSCo) at Carnforth High, supported by Quentin Harding (SROC).
