SROCkite.gif (2521 bytes) SROC at LAMM - the whole story

It was not only SROC member Quentin Harding and brother Kevin (2nd in the Elite Class) and Karen Nash and Rowena Browne (1st female pair in B Class) who made a strong showing at his year's LAMM. This mountain marathon has strong associations with SROC. Organiser Martin Stone and Andrew Leaney of Sport Ident used to be club members. Rick and Angie Houghton always attend with the Compasspoint shop, and a few club members turn out every year to help - John and Sue Denmark, Frances Watkins, Dave and Val Johnstone and Brian Jackson were helping again this year, together with the club tent at the Day 1 finish. Read all about it in Brian's blog.

Glenys FergusonFollowing her win in the Stockport urban race yesterday (21st June) SROC runner Glenys Ferguson (pictured right in action at the Salt Ayre sprint O) has strengthened her position at the top of the W55+ table in the Nopesport Urban League. With another 5 races still to go, and the best 5 of 9 to count, let's hope Glenys can pull off a couple more wins over the Autumn. The next League race is in London in September; followed by Chester, Cambridge and Oxford, finishing with Sheffield in November. Links to men's and women's tables.

SROCkite.gif (2521 bytes) Summer Series - possible embargo conflict

The next Summer Series event is at Worden Park, Leyland on Wednesday 17th June. The final event is at Astley Park, Chorley on Wednesday 24th June. Please note that it is possible that the British Sprint Champs will be held in Astley Park and Chorley Town in 2010. If so, and you run on there on 24th June, you would be classed as non-competitive at the Sprint Champs (not that it makes much difference for most!)
