SROCkite.gif (2521 bytes) Anyone for the Harvester Relays?

The Harvester Relays are held each year and consist of a mixed night/day relay for teams of 5 or 7 runners. This year they are being hosted by Saxons OC near Tunbridge Wells over the weekend of 8&9 May. If you are interested in being part of a team please contact Mark Edwards (Club Captain).

The next Wednesday evening training run will be on one of SROC's old favourites - the sandhills and beach at St Annes. Mike Ormerod is leading, all are welcome. Run as far or as fast (or slow) as you like. Arrive by 6.45 pm on 21 April aiming to start by 7 pm. Details on the fixtures page.

SROCkite.gif (2521 bytes) Sprints Champs a great success!


Congratulations to Sarah Rollins and Graham Gristwood who triumphed in the British Sprint Elite Championships today in Chorley. SROCkite.gif (2521 bytes) SROC has a new British Champion!

Dick Collins mastered the technical and physical terrain at Haverthwaite today to finish in 1st place in his class, and is therefore M65 British Middle Distance Champion 2010. Other SROC top ten finishers were Peter Beighton (3rd M75), Annie Ockenden (5th W12), Julian Lailey (6th M60), Zoe Harding (6th W16), Sarah Watkins (7th W35), Helen Ockenden (9th W14) and Mary Ockenden (9th W50). SROCkite.gif (2521 bytes) JK 2010 successes

No 1st places in the individuals for SROC members this year, but several podium places to talk about. Best in the sprint were Sue & Quentin Harding, both in 3rd place (W45 and M45). Top finisher in the combined days 2 & 3 was our Chairman, Julian Lailey (2nd M60L), followed by Zoe Harding (3rd W16A), Lisa Quickfall (3rd W16B) and Karen Quickfall (3rd W45S).
