New Year Cracker

 Reminder that entries for the New Year Cracker close Tuesday 31st December 2024 at 21:00.

Shoes with some grip are recommended as the grassed areas & artificial pitches are very slippery. No metal spikes allowed though.

Control descriptions are on the map for the short course but not for the long. Loose descriptions are available for the long course but the paper size is very long.

Wind & rain expected so please come prepared.

End of Life for SI card types 5 & 6

SportIdent have just announced that future control unit (firmware ?) updates will no longer support SI card types 5 & 6, but there is no indication of when the next update will be, so we do not yet know how long before this takes effect.

Clarification from SI headquarters in Germany :    "... there is no planned firmware update for BSF7, BSF8 or BSF9 stations any time soon. This means that the warning about support for SI-Card 5/6 is a precautionary warning. "    

... so there is no need to rush to replace your type 5 or type 6 card anytime soon, or until there is a further announcement.

New Year Cracker Wednesday 1st January 2025

Start off the New Year with the SROC New Year Cracker! Wednesday 1st January 2025 at Lancaster University, mass starts at 12.00 and 12.10 depending on course. Very suitable for newcomers, so EVERYONE is welcome! 

Prizes for winners (M/W in u12, u16, sen, vet, supervet, ultravet, hypervet categories).

CompassSport Qualifier Confirmed

 I now have confirmation we will be competing on Sunday 23 February in the SELOC round at Clowbridge (south of Burnley), against WCOC, LOC, MDOC and DEE. We need to beat two of these to qualify for the Final. Please let Captain John know by email as soon as you can whether you are or are not able to run. We will need a big strong turnout. SROC/LOC Family Event Saturday 7th November Low Sizergh Barn CANCELLED

Due to the incoming storm is has been decided its best to cancel the above event, sorry. It will be rearranged for the New Year sometime - watch this space!

Night Street League event 4, Halton

New Year Cracker Entries are open

Start the year at Lancaster University 1st January 2025. 

Two courses available: Long - 60 controls in 60 minutes, Short - 30 controls in 30 minutes.

Morecambe North West Urban League event
