BEACON FELL ORIENTEERING EVENT SATURDAY 25TH OCTOBER STARTS 12.30 TO 1.30

Orienteering for all - families. runners, walkers!

You can go enter and go round as a pair, small group or individual. 

As well as great views there is a cafe and an adventure playground, so something for everyone. Free coaching and help provided before you start. Come in plenty of time to get help before you start - 30 minutes of so. Start is open 12.30 to 1.30pm

Courses Easy (Long Yellow), Hard (Green) and 60min score

The Easy and Score are ideal for newcomers and the less experienced - if in doubt the Score (ie visit the controls in any order) is suggested.

Fees: Junior SROC Members FREE (Ask me for the code if you do not have it)!  £6 Adult member and £3/£7 non members
You only pay per entry/dibber so a pair or small group is one entry.
  

Night Street League new season starts soon!

The opening event in the ever-popular night street league will take place in Preston on Wednesday 22nd October. Details are available here. For details of the other events in the series, please see the Fixtures page. The NSL pages currently reflect the last season, and probably won't be updated before the new website comes on-line quite soon.

Tim Watkins Trophy 2025

This mass start, long distance, event returns to Blawith and Subberthwaite on Sunday 23rd November. Entries are now open on SiEntries. As well as the mass start courses we have Blue, Green and Short Green colour coded courses on offer.

SROC Achieve Fourth Place at CompassSport Cup Final!

SROC (Red Rose Orienteers) came an amazing 4th place in the CompassSport Cup Final large club category which took place on Sunday! This was a real team effort with lots of people contributing to this outstanding result, which was needed as we did not even have a full strength team due to a clash with the Lakes Mountain Trial. The event took place on the intricate sand dunes of South Gare beach at Redcar. Very well done to all the team! Thanks to CLOK for putting the event on and CompassSport Magazine and Compass Point O shop for sponsorship

Lancaster University Results Autumn Series No. 1

What a great start we had to our Autumn Series at Lancaster University last Saturday, where over 75 people came to enjoy the sunshine and finding controls! Results

Our next Saturday event is on 25th October at Beacon Fell near Chipping/Garstang. You can enter online here.

John Embrey Takes Gold for the 2nd Year Running!

John Embrey won gold medal in M65 in the World Masters Orienteering Championships in Spain yesterday. He also won in 2024 - what an achievement! Well done to the other 7 SROC members who are also at the event.

Ellie and the GB Team Take 6th Place in European Relay!

 

What a result! W16 girls take 6th place in the European Youth Orienteering Championships anchored home by SROC's Ellie Todhunter! Well done!

Kendal summer series event, results and RouteGadget

The fifth and final summer series event was held in Kendal this evening. Runners had to contend with a complex urban landscape and some expert planning to get the most from the area. This event was a counter in the North West Urban League. Results are on-line here, and RouteGadget is here. The final league tables will follow soon.
