Carnforth Family Orienteering Festival

A very successful day of orienteering was held in Happy Mount Park, Morecambe, on Tuesday 29th April. This was organised by SROC member Mark Edwards, and was attended by school children from the Carnforth family of schools. Take a look at the results, or read this report.

British Orienteering Coaching Day 7th June

British Orienteering are once again organising a coaching day to suit all levels of orienteers from Orange standard to Green and above. This year it will be on Saturday 7th June, close to the National Event at Brown Clee the next day. Click here for more details and an application form.

Message Board

The message board has suffered an attack of spam (no Monty Python jokes please) and has had to be disabled. We hope to have it back up and running again in a few days.

More evening runs

4 more evening runs have been added to the fixtures list. These are:
Wed 30th April - Clougha
Wed 7th May - Longridge
Wed 14th May - Glasson
Wed 21st May - Pendle
A Cycling option will also be available at Clougha and Glasson.

New version of the SROC Event Handbook

Version 1.4 of the Event Handbook has been added here.. You may also download a Word or PDF version by visiting the Organisers' Development page. All organisers and planners are asked to acquaint themselves with the contents of the handbook, and all users and contributors should report any errors or suggestions for improvements to the Volunteer Manager.

Good News about Alan Springett

The good news is that Alan Springett was discharged from hospital in Barrow last Saturday and has since returned to his home in London. We wish him all the best for a complete recovery and hope to meet Alan and Catherine again at orienteering events. Many people have been asking about Alan's progress and sending good wishes, so this spot on our website has been well read. In fact Alan has been reading it too, so if you would both like to join SROC as local members when you visit the North, you would be more than welcome! So, best wishes again to Alan and Catherine, from all in SROC.

Harvester Relays 17th & 18th May 2008
