Club Picnic

The complex Myerscough College campus, previously unused for orienteering, provided a suitable challenge for SROC picnickers today. Becca Rooke's butterfly sprint course kept everyone on their toes and Mark Edwards was a worthy winner. Afterwards a scrumptious feast was enjoyed. Summer Sprint Series - scores after the final event

A strong field at Lancaster University meant that several people hoping to improve on their league scores were disappointed. However there were a few changes in positions in the various age classes, and the overall table which combines classes is interesting reading, especially around 8th place! Summer Sprint Series event 5, Lancaster University

The complex university campus was used to full effect by Mike Johnson who planned some fiendish courses for the final sprint event of the series. A little dampness in the latter part of the evening did nothing to detract from the enjoyment. Results are on-line Prologue Final Overall, and RouteGadget and the final league scores will follow in due course. Don't miss the next sprint style event, around the hitherto unused Myerscough College campus on Saturday 11th July, where the prizes for the series will also be distributed.

Summer Series scores

The league tables for the SROC Summer Sprint Series have been brought up to date including three events, and may be viewed here. With another two events to go there could still be some dramatic leadership changes in the various age classes. Remember it's the best three scores to count, and organisers receive an extra score equivalent to the average of their best two. Next event is on Monday 29th June, at Salt Ayre & Scale Hall in Lancaster, followed by Lancaster University on Tuesday 7th July with the prize giving taking place at the annual Club Picnic event at Myerscough College on Saturday 11th July.
