SROC bike ride

Over 20 riders of all ages turned out for the annual SROC cycle ride today from Denny Beck, near Lancaster. Martyn Roome lead the ride via the Lune cycle path and minor roads to Carnforth, where everyone joined the Lancaster Canal towpath through to Hest Bank for a cafe stop. The ride continued along Morecambe promenade with a lunch stop on Sandylands promenade, via Heysham and Middleton to Overton. A short diversion to the picturesque hamlet of Sunderland also allowed a visit to Sambo's grave. The ride was completed by a return to Halton via minor roads and cycle paths.
