Lancaster University Saturday 14th November Final Details

Here are the final details for Saturday's event
Follow University signs to Alexandra Park (the first entrance to the Uni if coming from the south). There is no car park fee.
Please complete a registration slip at Registration (or in your car!)
The fees are £5 per adult or family group and £2 per Junior (if going by themselves).
The start and Finish are approx 3 minutes away from parking.
There are Toilets in The Winning Post in Cartmel College, 5 minutes away, map available.
MAP
The map and control descriptions are ISSOM sprint standard, despite the fact that we are using the parkland and not the built campus. Map scale is 1:5000 scale with map symbols appropriately adjusted.
There are separate descriptions for the Technical course as well as being on the map, whereas for the Orange course they are only on the map.
SAFETY
Both the orange and Technical courses have 2 road crossings. The first is across a cul de sac road up to a hotel. The other is on the main University drive at a zebra crossing. CROSS WITH CARE!
At both crossings there is a time out with controls on either side of both of the crossings to allow for safe crossing – ie you have up to 1 minute to cross each road, and whatever time you take between the 2 controls will be deducted from your total time.
The Technical course also crosses the perimeter road in 2 places. The traffic here is light, but once again you must choose you time and place to cross and CROSS WITH CARE
The Orange course does not cross the perimeter road.
COURSES
Controls will be secured at or to the nearest point available to the feature shown in the description and on the map – in all cases very near!
Orange Course is 3.2 Km. You may have your map at Registration.
The Technical Course is 5.4 Km. It is a normal linear course, until after Control no. 11. There are then 8 controls which are an “odds and evens type” score. The controls are numbered A1, A2, A3, A4 and B1, B2, B3 and B4. After control no. 11, you can choose either to do all the A controls (in any order), or all the B controls (in any order) then changing to do whichevre set you did not do first (again in any order). Once you have done those 8 controls you go to control 20 to resume the normal linear course.
